Great British Bake Off star Cristy Sharp gives birth to fifth child
Great British Bake Off star Cristy Sharp has given birth to her fifth child.
The baker, 34, – who came fourth in the 2023 series of the hit Channel 4 series – took to Instagram to share the happy news and posted a sweet snap of her little one.
She revealed she had welcomed a son named Judah and gushed that her ‘heart was so full’ and that he had ‘completed the last piece’ of their family puzzle.
Cristy’s newborn looked adorable in the picture wearing a white hat and buttoned baby grow.
Cristy already shares four children with her husband who she does not share snaps of on social media.
She penned in the caption: ‘On Monday 27th May, God blessed us with another Son.
‘Judah Lior Sharp ♥️ My heart is so full with love for you that I could burst. You have completed the last piece of the puzzle & I will love you until the end of time ♥️.’
Her fellow Bake Off star Dan Hunter was quick to send a congratulatory message under the post.
He wrote: ‘Oh Cristy Judah is absolutely beautiful! many congratulations to you and your family from ours. I hope you are both doing well xxx’
Cristy announced she was pregnant with her fifth child back in February.
The quarter finalist took to Instagram as she shared a gorgeous snap of her blossoming bump in a figure hugging black dress.
She captioned the post: ‘Bump update. Feeling extremely pregnant now & getting so excited at the thought of our new addition. Heartburn has well and truly kicked in.’
Joking about how she’s preparing for the birth she continued: ‘Every evening it’s One born every minute & Emma Willis delivering babies on repeat (much to my husbands annoyance)’.
Replying to the star’s post fans rushed to congratulate the baker as they penned a plethora of supportive comments.
One wrote: ‘Just glowing @cristysharp_ ❤️’ while another added: ‘Beautiful mama’.
Another added: ‘Look so beautiful Cristy’ and another penned: ‘Yay. Continuing to pray for a blessed and healthy pregnancy/ arrival when it comes!’
Fellow bake off star Rowan Claughton sent a series of red love heart emojis.
Cristy keeps her family life fairly private and rarely features her children or husband on her social media.
Beaming in the mirror selfie the snap pictured a sweet picture of Cristy and her husband on their wedding day as the former PA beamed in a white veil.
Cristy came in fourth place in the 2023 series of the hit Channel 4 series as judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith sent the star home after the quarter final’s party week.
For their Showstopper they had to create an ‘anything but beige buffet’ with a whopping four and a half hours to create both savoury and sweet snacks.
Paul said Cristy’s buffet was ‘not the best looking’ but complimented the flavours, while Matty’s sports-inspired menu impressed.
Paul and Prue were torn between sending home Dan and Cristy home from the tent and ultimately decided to say goodbye to Cristy.
She said: ‘It’s been such a crazy fast paced experience. Now I’m going to sit back and reflect on how far I’ve some, I’m so proud of myself for making it this far.’
Fans were gutted to see her go as they took to Twitter to vent their frustrations.
One shared: ‘Yay Matty!! But surely Dan should have been sent home?!’
Another agreed: ‘Well done Matty, wrong person went though.’
‘Cristy was robbed. Lucky, lucky boy Dan,’ a third wrote, while someone else added: ‘Not sure that was the right choice to go home.’
One viewer questioned: ‘How did Dan stay in over Cristy??? He had 2 poor days & 5/6 of his ‘non-beige’ buffet was brown!!’
Prior to her appearance on the show the busy mum juggled her maternal responsibilities with her job as a personal assistant.
She specialises in baking cakes and incorporates her Israeli heritage into her methods – citing her husband’s Jamaican roots as another source of flavour inspiration.
A perfectionist, the PA gets a thrill out of meticulously decorating her cakes. Cristy describes her baking style as enchanted and pretty – bakes that conjure up a sense of childhood.
