‘Great excitement’ as Lotto bosses reveal where life-changing €6.7m ticket sold
LOTTO bosses have revealed a life-changing €6.7million ticket was sold at a Lidl store.
The winning slip was purchased at the supermarket on the Ballymun Road in Dublin 9.
The lucky numbers in the draw were 1, 4, 8, 21, 27, 28 and the bonus was 34.
Lidl store manager Sun Haojun said there was “great excitement” in the area following the massive win.
He said: “There is great excitement in store this morning, we are absolutely thrilled to share this lifechanging moment with the winner and to have sold the winning ticket in Lidl Ballymun.
“On behalf of the entire team at Lidl, we want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the lucky winner.
“Not only is this incredible news for them, but it’s extremely exciting for the whole Ballymun community.”
And it has been confirmed that the lucky winner made contact with Lotto HQ to organise collecting their winnings.
There have now been five Irish Lotto jackpot winners this year, with two winners from Dublin, one from Louth, and one from Limerick.
Just two weeks ago, another National Lottery player in Dublin 9 became a millionaire after scooping the top prize of €1million in the Daily Million draw at 9pm on Sunday 16th June after purchasing their winning ticket at Nan’s Centra on the Shangan Road.
Meanwhile, tonight’s EuroMillions jackpot is set to roll towards an estimated €25million.
Players dreaming of being the next big National Lottery winner are reminded that tickets can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery app or at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.30pm cut-off time for sales this evening.
And last week, the National Lottery revealed a Cork woman as the THIRD big winner of the new EuroDreams game in Ireland.
The winning jackpot ticket is worth €2,000 per month for five years.
The lucky player said: “Well I’m a regular player of the Lotto, but when I went up to the counter in the shop, I saw this new game called EuroDreams and it got me thinking about how I’ve always dreamed of owning a red convertible, driving somewhere with the sunglasses on and my hair blowing in the wind! So, I bought a ticket.
“When I checked it, I thought I’d only won €2.50.”
She added: “I asked a family member to double check it for me, and it was then we realised the true value of the ticket.
“She goes, mammy, you’re after winning €2,000 a month for 5 years!
“Ah well we cheered and roared; I was over the moon.

“I’m delighted it’s a modest bit going into my bank account each month because now I’ll be sensible with the win and won’t be buying silly things.
“However, I am going to fulfil my lifelong dream and rent a red convertible and cruise the Wild Atlantic Way!”
