Handsome couple wed after meeting on a ‘very successful’ shopping trip

The happy couple: Eddie Brown, from Portlaoise, Co. Laois, and Ian Burke, from Sneem, Co. Kerry.

The reception: The stunning Great Southern Hotel in Killarney hosted both our ceremony and reception. Killarney is where we first met eight years ago. The reception was amazing, the drink options were unreal, food was divine, and we also had a caricaturist and solo guitarist.




The funny factor: We did a table dash – two minutes to get a photo with each of the 19 tables – with Abba’s Gimmie! Gimmie! Gimmie! blaring. We sprinted, laughed and fell our way to each corner of the banqueting room. Our guests were raving afterwards about how we pulled it off in our own style.


The stress factor: The wedding planning was relaxed, we really enjoyed the planning process (Eddie is now looking for a job in wedding planning, no kidding! Call me!).

The first glance: We met on the escalator in TK Maxx! I was working there at the time, and Ian was in for a few bits. It’s safe to say it was a very successful shopping trip! Instantly there were sparks between us two and we have never looked back!
