Homeless man buys derelict Sligo cottage for €41,000 after money raised through GoFundMe page

After finding himself homeless in Dublin and Cork, the intervention of friends has meant Cian Murtagh has been able to buy a derelict Sligo cottage which he hopes to renovate

A man who was once homeless and thought he might die on the streets has seen his life turn around after buying a derelict cottage in rural County Sligo.

Cian Murtagh (30) from County Meath had been homeless since he came out of State care at 18, living on the streets of Dublin while working full time in the construction industry as he tried to put a roof over his head.
