Hot tub and BBQ boats return to Essex shopping centre lake this summer

A hugely popular attraction which sees people go out on the water in hot tub boats will return to an Essex shopping centre’s lake this summer. Skuna, the UK’s leading BBQ & Hot Tub boat operator, has announced it’s reopening for summer at the popular Lakeside shopping centre in Thurrock.

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday over the summer months, Skuna’s range of boats will be hitting the waves out on the lake, with each sailing lasting up to two hours out on the water. The BBQ boats, which allow up to ten friends to take in the scenic settings around the Lakeside centre, feature top-of-the-range Cadac Grills that allow any aspiring grill master to show off their cooking skills.

For those after a bit more of a relaxing experience, the Hot-Tub boats can seat up to seven people who fancy touring and exploring around the tree-lined waters of Lakeside in a luxurious jacuzzi. And while June may have gotten summer in the UK off to a colder start than expected, with scorching temperatures expected to hit from the end of the month, the relaunch couldn’t have come at a better time.

For the 2024 season, Skuna has also launched refreshed packages for its BBQ Boats that include a range of summer classics. Food fans will be able to chow down on beef steak burgers on brioche buns, corn-on-the-cob, lamb kebabs and chicken skewers, experience Mediterranean flavours including an antipasto platter and hummus and flatbreads or just bring their own food to cook out on the water.

The site in Grays can cater for groups of just two friends right the way through to huge parties of 100 guests. Prices start from £20, and all boats come equipped with safety equipment, and life jackets for younger sailors and non-swimmers. Find out more and book for this summer by clicking here.
