Huge pop star in talks to join Strictly – & she’s already got to grips with Gio

GIRLS Aloud star Nicola Roberts could keep on dancing even after the band’s tour comes to an end — on the next series of Strictly.

Bosses are eyeing up the 38-year-old singer after her appearance on the Christmas special last year.

A source said: “Nicola is a beautiful dancer with amazing musicality. She was really impressive on the Strictly special and her waltz was beautiful. They’d love to have Nicola back and the offer is there for her.

“She has got a jam-packed summer with Girls Aloud but Strictly think she could be amazing if she fancied a whirl.”

Nicola, who was partnered with under-fire pro Giovanni Pernice, was beaten to the festive Glitterball trophy by EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick.

But she loved the experience, saying: “I said I wanted fun and it has been fun.”

Nicola’s bandmate Kimberley Walsh finished runner-up on Strictly in 2012.

A Strictly spokesman said: “We do not comment on speculation.”

Nicola’s bandmates Kimberley, Cheryl Tweedy and Nadine Coyle all reunited last year to watch her perform on the show.

The foursome are currently in the middle of their huge comeback tour.

It is the first time the group have performed live since the death of their bandmate and close friend Sarah Harding, who passed away following a breast cancer diagnosis in September 2021.

They will play to a sold out crowd in Glasgow’s Ovo Arena tomorrow night before heading to Nottingham, Leeds, Birmingham and London.
