I don’t want any Taylor Swift fans to make the same mistake as me
There’s nothing worse than missing out on the event that everyone is talking about.
Ever since Taylor Swift announced three shows of the Eras Tour at Anfield Stadium, there has been no escaping Taylor-talk. The weeks leading up to the shows have been filled with daily discussions in the ECHO office.
Let’s just say in terms of envy it’s been up there with Glastonbury tickets for me. And now that the dates are finally here, I’ve been feeling slightly disappointed to still be ticketless.

As Swifties will know, fans won’t let tickets get in their way of experiencing the Eras tour. Edinburgh Live reported that ticketless fans were sat on picnic blankets in neighbouring Roseburn Park during the Murrayfield Stadium shows last week.
It isn’t the first time that ticketless Swifties have been spotted trying to catch a glimpse of Taylor Swift. There have been pictures and videos throughout the tour of fans sitting in car parks and on steps listening from outside venues.
Merseyside Police warned fans without tickets not to head to the Anfield stadium or the surrounding area. There is strictly no camping permitted at the stadium or in the immediate vicinity, including local parks.
But this didn’t stop fans from sitting in Stanley Park last night during Taylor’s first concert at the stadium. Freya Norse, 21, from Blackburn and Ellie Moore, 26, from Leicester had travelled down to listen to Taylor from outside the stadium.
Ellie said: “I’m here as the emotional support friend. I do like the music but not as much as her.”
Friends Katie Hughes, 22, and Cally-Anne Sanders, 23, from Birmingham had travelled down to secure their merchandise from the official store located in the park. They had just been to bottomless brunch in Revolución de Cuba in the Albert Dock and traded friendship bracelets with their server.
Speaking about Liverpool, Cally-Anne said: “Everyone has been so friendly. I’ve never been and its a reason to come.”
The Swifties are heading to Anfield stadium tonight and wearing Sunshine and Midnight rain inspired outfits. Their outfits were already laid on their beds.
Cally-Anne added: “It’s like before you go on holiday.” Despite fans not getting a proper glimpse of Taylor Swift, everyone felt like they were in good spirits and making the most of their Eras Tour experience. Groups of young girls were singing and dancing while their parents made the most of the social side of being brought along.
There were Swifties dressed in Eras tour inspired outfits, cowboy hats and feather bowers. Fans also swapped friendship bracelets with each other.
The only thing I would say is that it is worth wrapping up. It was 13°C at 9pm but felt a lot colder with the wind. The Met Office predicts similar temperatures tonight, so it is worth keeping in mind.
I would hate for anyone to make the same mistake as me. I arrived in a coat but should have packed a spare jumper or cardigan. There was also stop-start rain throughout the evening, so it’s worth bringing an umbrella or waterproof coat as the only shelter are the trees.
I also found the sound was clear when you sat away from the stadium and further into the park. However this meant that you were further away from other Swifties, taking away from the atmosphere if you’re after a singalong with other fans.
