‘I hated my sport but I came back and was able to make meaning out of it’ – Helping athletes deal with what comes after Olympics

Róisín McGettigan-Dumas has more than a brief cameo in Lauren Fleshman’s excellent book Good for a Girl; My Life Running in a Man’s World which won the William Hill Sports Book of the Year last year.

McGettigan-Dumas was on an athletics scholarship at Providence College over 20 years ago and became good friends with Fleshman through the circuit. They co-created the ‘Believe I Am’ training journals and pitched ideas to Nike about product lines that would help women shift their mindset from negative thinking.
