‘I tried Dublin’s prestigious restaurant adored by Hollywood A-listers’
There are dozens of delicious restaurants located in Dublin’s city center, and you would struggle to find one in a better location than Rosa Madre.
Located in Dublin’s iconic tourist hotspot Temple Bar, Rosa Madre is a hotspot for celebrities, as Hollywood’s elite often seem to stop by whenever they are in town.
It is one of Ireland’s most well-known restaurants, having had Nick Jonas, Jamie Foxx, Will Ferrell and the Foo Fighters in for dinner in recent months.
Myself and my partner made a booking over a month in advance for a Thursday night in June, and after enjoying one drink in one of the many nearby pubs, we made our way to Rosa Madre.
We were met by kind staff members who showed us to our lovely table. The staff being so kind and helpful was a theme throughout the evening. Each and every person working there seemed to know their job well, and they all helped make the night go as well as it did.
The vibe of the restaurant wasn’t exactly what I expected. Given the prestigious status of the restaurant, I wasn’t expecting it to be as cool as it was. The music was right up my street – calm R&B music that definitely added to the experience, and it made it feel as though this wasn’t just somewhere for old, rich people.
The menu had a bit of everything on it. Lots of seafood, some delicious looking pasta dishes, but I couldn’t resist getting the steak. I certainly didn’t regret my decision.
After we shared a gorgeous prawn starter with some excellent bread, we got into the mains. The steak was gorgeous, one of the nicest I’ve had in Ireland, and my girlfriend’s chicken supreme was also lovely.
As is often the case with a meal like this though, it was the roast potatoes that stole the show. I think I could have eaten hundreds of them. Absolutely gorgeous.
We shared a very nice bottle of wine, and the staff were always available to help if we had any issues. When we contemplated dessert, we decided not to bother, as my partner is a coeliac and there didn’t seem to be much on the menu that she could have.

When we casually brought this up in front of a staff member, he insisted that the kitchen could whip up a dessert that did cater to her allergies, and they did just that.
A stunning meringue with some ice cream and chocolate was the perfect way to finish the meal, and we shared that, both of us giving it the thumbs up.
The night ended with two glasses of limoncello, and we left truly delighted. It was a lovely night, with delicious food and brilliant staff.
It’s easy to see why the celebs from all around the world enjoy Rosa Madre, and it is well worth a visit if you’re in Dublin.
