The Duke of Westminster and his fiancée are to subsidise free ice cream as part of their wedding day celebrations.
Hugh Grosvenor, the seventh Duke of Westminster, is set to marry Olivia Henson at Chester Cathedral on Friday.
Last week it was revealed the couple had funded the annual Summer Flowers project, which saw 100,000 flowers planted in displays across the city.
Visitors to the city centre on Friday will be able to enjoy free ice cream and sorbet from three independent city-centre businesses from 10:00 BST.
Cheshire Farm Ice Cream, in Chester Market; Diddy Donuts, under the Eastgate Clock and Krum Gelato, on Watergate Street, are each taking part.
Craig Fermor, owner of Diddy Donuts, said he was “delighted, flattered and proud” to be invited to take part.
“It’s a lovely touch from the couple and will put a lot of smiles on faces,” he added.
Fabrizio Gobbato, co-owner and of Krum Gelato, said the business would be making a bespoke lemon sorbet flavour which will mirror the couple’s wedding cake.
Ed Warrington, of Cheshire Farm Ice Cream, said the business was “delighted” to be part of the initiative.
Northgate Street, St Werburgh Street, Eastgate Street, and St John Street are among those affected.
