CEFCU Arena will host the Illinois High School Association girls basketball state finals for the next five years.
The IHSA announced a contract extension earlier this week, staying at the home of Illinois State University athletics through the 2028-29 school year. The former Redbird Arena on the ISU campus has hosted the state finals since 1992.
“CEFCU Arena is beautiful,” IHSA executive director Craig Anderson said in a release, “and we have an incredible support from the ISU staff and community volunteers. Their passion and professionalism make for an unforgettable experience for our student-athletes, coaches, and fans.”

This goes hand in hand with the IHSA adjusting the state finals time schedule, so each Final Four participant across all four classes will get a two-day experience. All four classes moved to one state finals weekend starting with the 2022 state finals.
This news comes about two months after IHSA also extended its contract with the State Farm Center to host the boys basketball state finals for another five years.
