India Women 265/8 in 50.0 Overs | India vs South Africa: 1st Women’s ODI Live Score – The Times of India

17:11 (IST), Jun 16

India Women end their innings on 265 after losing 8 wickets. At one point they were at 99 after losing 5 of their batters. However, the partnership of Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma kept them alive in this game. They started off well for a couple of overs but after Shafali Verma’s dismissal the runs stopped coming and they were put under pressure. They couldn’t form strong partnerships and lost three wickets in a span of 12 overs without scoring many runs. However, Smriti Mandhana was holding one end strongly and when Jemimah Rodrigues came to bat, they formed a steady partnership. They couldn’t take it long as she was sent back in the 21st over soon followed by Richa Ghosh. Deepti Sharma turned out to be a reliable batting partner for Mandhana and they both showcased their resilience by knocking the ball around and rotating the strike. They absorbed the pressure well and made sure to keep the runs coming. They put up a strong stand and got some valuable runs for the team before Deepti Sharma was dismissed. Smriti Mandhana fought through pain and kept the runs coming. She became the first Indian batter in Women’s cricket to get two centuries against South Africa. Pooja Vastrakar and Asha Sobhana ended the innings by adding some very important runs on the board.
