Ireland West Airport ‘cracks down’ on unruly passengers a ‘top priority’
Ireland West Airport has announced a brand new initiative they hope will crack down on unruly passenger behaviour in the airport.
Ireland West, along with every other Irish airport, An Garda Síochana, the Irish Aviation Authority, AirNav Ireland, ground handlers and international aviation organisations want to tackle the scourge of unruly and dangerous behaviour in airports.
The safety of flight crews and passengers is a top priority of the airport and officials are hoping this plan will ensure a safe and pleasant journey for everyone flying this summer.

In a statement, an Ireland West Airport representative said: “Ireland West Airport, together with our aviation industry partners, is launching a plan to combat unruly passenger behaviour. The safety of flights, passengers and crew can be affected by the unruly behaviour of a small minority of passengers.
All Irish airlines and airports, An Garda Síochana, the Irish Aviation Authority, AirNav Ireland, ground handlers and international aviation organisations have all come together to tackle the issue of disruptive and dangerous behaviour, which affects passengers and staff almost every day of the year. Safety is our top priority, and we want to ensure a safe and pleasant journey for everyone flying this summer.
Customers are delighted that Ireland West seems to be tackling unruly passenger behaviour with one saying they should be “kicked out” of the airport.
One said: “Good to hear that you are clamping down on unruly behaviour. There are always a few who think they’re better than the rest of us and demand preferential treatment. Kick them out.”
A second said: “Aviation in general, needs to work together, to ban these Karens, who delay/divert flights.”
