Ireland’s newest music festival is just 15 minutes outside Cork city
A brand new summer music festival in launching in Cork city as local artists come together for a weekend of music, art and and culture. The inaugural Buladh Bass festival starts this weekend just 15 minutes outside the city centre.
Bualadh Bass is Ireland’s newest independent festival from Steam Lite, Freezit Records, and Cork Art Show – each well known in the art and music scene for exciting events and gigs around Cork.
And with the likes of the popular Indiependence and Body and Soul festivals taking a break for the summer, Buldah Bass is set to bring big crowds looking for a weekend of good fun.
Artists from home and abroad – with loads of local Cork names and emerging new talent – will grace the two stages with a range of acts including Drum and Bass, Techno and Jungle. While the Art Village will host live entertainment including acoustic musicians, art installations, yoga, and games.
Headlining the first festival are Jorge Favela and Outrage – two underground artists with international fanbases – with other acts including A Sub Culture, Jet Li, Milo, Composer and Danilo Milk.
There will be food vendors and a coffee dock onsite but the festival is BYOB so attendees will have to bring their own cans.
A festival spokesperson said: “For all of us at Bualadh Bass, this isn’t just a party—it’s a tribute to our ever-growing community. One that’s deliciously diverse and fantastically inclusive, representing all those that make our country so beautiful.
“The theys, the thems, the hes, the shes. Whether you’ve just arrived on these shores or you’re born and bred, everyone is welcome here. We want you to leave with a head and heart full of memories.”
The festival takes place just north of at Glanmire and ticket options include €45 for day tickets, €70 for a two-day pass, and €80 for a two-day pass with camping. See more and buy tickets online here.
