So many fond memories of Joe ranging back to our first day at school in Lisnagrieve, underage football, going training in Gerry’s van (all of us!!), good times in Perth and here in Melbourne. He really was a true gentleman and will be sadly missed. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in Peace.”
Another friend said: Known as Smiley Joe or 7Up Joe in earlier years, Ciaran was a real genuine lad. Always a witty comment. He was some character. Well done to his club for a thoughtful idea to somewhat help his family in what will be a tough journey. Life is short, we do not appreciate what we have.”
Mr Carragher is survived by his wife Fa, son Padraic and daughter Maya, parents Michael and Noreen, brothers Barry, Michael, sisters Michelle and Sinead. No funeral arrangements have been confirmed yet.
