Irish road hell as video shows car swerving constantly into opposite traffic
Road users in the west of Ireland have been stunned to witness a driver swerving erratically on a major road as the vehicle came close to hitting other cars numerous times.
In a video seen by Galway Beo, a car can be seen drifting far across the road’s central double white lines with its rear lights flashing. The overtaking is prohibited on the stretch of road, but to make matters worse oncoming cars are just metres away at times.
The car appears to be on the N4 national primary road in Co. Sligo during the dangerous incident. It’s believed the incident occurred yesterday.

Later in the video the car drives in the hard shoulder for a long period and straddles the line between the hard shoulder and the main lane.
In other news, Iarnród Éireann passengers departing from Galway faced major disruption when the Gardaí responded to an incident on a Dublin-bound train this morning.
It’s understood that Gardaí boarded the service this morning on its way to Dublin’s Heuston station and several young men were removed from the train in Athlone.
There are plenty of reasons one might be travelling to Dublin this weekend, but it’s understood that the young men were going to a festival and were removed halfway to their destination due to an incident.
A member of the public who was on the train this morning wrote online: “The Gaurds were taking people off in Athlone. Wouldn’t you be depressed and you meant to be going to a (festival)”.
