Jacobs to announce 100 jobs at 50th anniversary

Jacobs have today announced the addition of 100 new jobs over the next two years in Ireland.

The construction management company will outline their plans at the official opening of its new office in Sandyford, Dublin.

Jacobs is already employing more than 1,200 people in Dublin, Cork and Belfast.

This all coincides with the 50th anniversary of Jacobs being in Ireland.

The new roles, in engineering, project management, construction management, commissioning and qualification, will be created over two years and support projects in high-growth sectors including critical infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, life sciences and semiconductors.

Key infrastructure projects that they have worked on include the National Transport Authority’s BusConnects Dublin and BusConnects Cork programmes, the Dunkettle Interchange Upgrade, Cork County Council’s M28 Motorway project and Irish Rail’s East Coast Railway Infrastructure Protection Projects programme.

They also have an extensive history with the life sciences sector in Ireland, working with many of the country’s main manufacturing bases including recent projects such as the Edwards Lifesciences Greenfield Manufacturing Facility in Limerick.

“Jacobs decided to grow beyond the US for the first time in 1974, and we selected Dublin with the IDA’s support,” said Bob Pragada, Jacobs CEO.
