James Anderson reveals big regret as England legend retires from Test cricket after West Indies win
James Anderson has admitted he’s ‘still gutted’ after dropping a catch during England’s win over the West Indies on Friday.
The 41-year-old’s retirement was confirmed before the showdown and the bowler took four wickets across the two innings to bow out on a high.
With England on the verge of victory, Gudakesh Motie chipped a shot back.
But Anderson was unable to catch the ball, with debutant Gus Atkinson eventually claiming the final wicket to give England the win.

“Playing for England is the best job in the world so I am lucky to have been able to do it for a long time.”
Anderson was asked what he’ll miss most as he prepares to adjust to life outside of the England starting XI.
And the bowler responded by saying: “The feeling we have got now of winning a Test match. There is no better feeling.
“Everyone has put in the graft. Sharing other people’s success as well.
“Gus was amazing. Jamie Smith on debut as well, incredible. To get to sit in here after a win and celebrate those performances is an incredible thing I am definitely going to miss.”
