Jannik Sinner’s ex-girlfriend Maria Braccini has finally spoken out after their split, as the tennis sensation moves on with fellow Wimbledon star Anna Kalinskaya.

The Italian beauty, who started dating Sinner in 2020, kept a relatively low profile during their relationship, and despite Sinner’s announcement in May about his new romance with Kalinskaya, Braccini remained tight-lipped on social media. Breaking her silence for the first time since March, the 23-year-old influencer and model has published a long post on the eve of Sinner’s Wimbledon showdown with Daniil Medvedev.

In her heartfelt post, she reflected: “I never talked about myself on social media, I never shared anything about my private life or what I was doing. I’ve been working hard over the last few years to achieve one of my biggest dreams.” She continued: “I went on a trip to sign a paper that is really important to me, which marks the beginning of a new, long path.

“Thank you to all the affection you have always shown me, especially in this last period, I am immensely grateful. Often, reading you, I had clear eyes, aware of the affection and support you gave me. Thank you, thank you, thank you with all my heart.”

Braccini concluded her update with optimism, sharing: “And then…How is it said? For every door that closes, there is always another one that opens. See you soon!” Her post included a series of snaps capturing moments from recent weeks, reports the Express.

22-year-old Sinner is the favourite to win this year’s Wimbledon and add to his Australian Open Grand Slam from earlier this year. He kicked off his Wimbledon campaign with a 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 victory over Yannick Hanfmann, before edging out Matteo Berrettini in a tightly contested second-round match that ended 7-6, 7-6, 6-2, 7-6.

He would go on to defeat Miomir Kecmanović 6-1, 6-4, 6-2 in the third round before a win over Ben Shelton in the round of 16 set up a match with Medvedev in the quarter-finals of the tournament on Tuesday. He will then go on to meet with the winner of the match between Carlos Alcaraz and Tommy Paul in the semis if he is victorious.

New beau Kalinskaya also looked to be tearing through the competition to Wimbledon greatness before an injury forced her to retire during a round of 16 game. Kalinskaya, who was being watched by Sinner in the stands, already humbled Panna Udvardy, Marie Bouzkova and Liudmila Samsonova before facing Elena Rybakina in the round of 16.
