Jobs lost as caravan and motorhomes firm collapses into administration | TheBusinessDesk.com
A Midlands family-run business specialising in caravans, motorhomes and campervans has crashed into administration after more than 50 years of trading.
34 jobs have been lost at Broad Lane Leisure, with a small number of staff retained to assist administrators at FRP Advisory.
The business has supplied specialist leisure vehicles including caravans, motorhomes and campervans across the UK since 1971, but has faced challenging trading conditions, primarily due to a reduction in demand which resulted in cash flow difficulties.
TheBusinessDesk.com revealed on July 10 that the Warwickshire-based firm was readying administrators.
Ben Jones, partner at FRP and joint administrator of Broad Lane Leisure Limited, said: “Unfortunately, mounting pressures resulted in the business being unable to meet its financial obligations.
“Regrettably, this meant ceasing to trade and reducing the workforce to a skeleton staff. We are supporting the employees affected to file claims with the Redundancy Payments Services.
“We are now exploring options for the business and would encourage any parties with an interest in acquiring the business’ assets to make contact with us as soon as possible.”
