Jose Mourinho ‘close’ to two new jobs after being linked with Liverpool role

Jose Mourinho is closing in on a return to football for next season after reportedly agreeing to two new jobs. The Portuguese boss was dismissed by Roma in January and was yet to receive an offer to lure him back into management.

There were tentative links to the Liverpool job before Arne Slot’s appointment. Mourinho fueled speculation when he was pictured in the stands for the Reds’ win over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

But he looks set to be back in football come August after reportedly agreeing two very different jobs. According to journalist Sky Sports, Mourinho is set to take over at Fenerbahce on a two-year deal.

The Turkish giants finished second last season with a remarkable 99 points, having only lost once, but that does not look like being enough for boss Ismail Kartal to keep his job.

However, he has reportedly insisted on a clause being inserted in his contract. According to Calcio Mercato, the ex-Chelsea boss wants to be able to leave for free if he is offered the Portugal job.

It does appear he is not completely convinced on a return to the dugout just yet though. The Independent reports that Mourinho is also in talks with Amazon about joining the channel’s Champions League coverage.
