Jose Mourinho lands new job in England five months after AS Roma sacking

Jose Mourinho will be returning to England this weekend as he joins TNT Sports coverage of the Champions League final as a pundit.

The former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur manager has been out of full-time employment in football since January when he was sacked by Serie A giants AS Roma. Despite leading the club to the UEFA Conference League in the 2021/22 season, the Portuguese’s relationship with the club soured and at the beginning of the year, the decision was made to part ways.

Since then, Mourinho has been active in Saudi Arabia where a number of clubs are thought to be interested in his services. The 61-year-old has declared he is interested in one day working in the Middle East.

Mourinho has not ruled out a return to the Premier League though. According to our colleagues at the Manchester Evening News, the experienced manager would ‘walk to Manchester’ if it meant he could take charge at Manchester United again.

Chelsea were also linked with bringing Mourinho back for a third spell but both of those outcomes seem unlikely. What is confirmed though is that the two-time Champions League winner will be providing his expert analysis for English viewers at Wembley Stadium this weekend.

Mourinho’s former club Real Madrid will take on Borussia Dortmund on Saturday evening. Los Blancos enter the game as favourites to secure a whopping 15th Champions League.
