Julian Alvarez rocks Manchester City by signalling intention to leave – Paper Round – Eurosport

Julian Alvarez wants to leave Manchester City this summer.

That is according to a report in The Sun, which claims the Argentina international has made his intentions clear to the Premier League champions.

The forward scored 11 goals in 36 league appearances last term to help Pep Guardiola’s side beat Arsenal to the title.

“Julian Alvarez has rocked Manchester City by asking to leave this summer, according to reports,” states the outlet.

“The former River Plate ace has now reportedly told the club he wants out.

“According to El Chiringuito, the Argentine forward rejected a new contract with the club at the end of last season.

“That deal would have seen him agree new and improved terms with a one-year extension from his existing deal that would take him up to 2028.

“And he has demanded the English champions to set a ‘logical’ asking price for would-be buyers.”

Man Utd interested in Simons

Manchester United are being linked with a move for Netherlands and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Xavi Simons.

Simons spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig from PSG, and now has a “big decision” to make on his future, according to The Sun.

“Xavi Simons faces a big decision over his future now he is out of the Euros – with Manchester United hot on his heels,” writes the outlet.

“Leipzig are among a trio of clubs showing strong interest along with fellow Germans Bayern Munich and United.

“PSG are yet to decide on Simons’ future but given the 21-year-old is eager for consistent game-time, there is a good chance he departs the Parc de Princes this summer.

“It will depend on whether boss Luis Enrique wants to make him a regular – but with a vast array of attacking talent at the Spaniard’s disposal, and more expected to arrive this summer, that is in doubt.

“Any exit would almost certainly be a loan at first, with an obligation to buy, as there is understood to be a hefty sell-on clause for former club PSV Eindhoven which expires at the end of 2024.”

England squad in line for big bonus should they win Euro 2024

England players will be richly rewarded should they win Sunday’s Euro 2024 final against Spain, reveals The Telegraph.

Every squad member can “earn over £350,000” should The Three Lions triumph in Berlin.

“England players are expected to share a bonus pot worth as much as £10 million if they create history and win the European Championship – even though most of them have no idea they are in line for a cash reward,” notes the outlet.

‌”Each member of manager Gareth Southgate’s 26-man England squad can earn over £350,000 if they can beat Spain in Sunday’s final in Berlin and win the Euros for the first time in the country’s history.

‌”But the cash reward on offer is such a low priority for the players that most of them have no idea how much they will receive if England become European champions.”
