Kate Middleton reveals Prince George is a big fan rock band, Queen

The Princess of Wales has revealed that Prince George is a fan of the British rock band, Queen.

The young royal, ten, first took a liking to the band when he heard them play at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace in 2022, celebrating 70 years of the late Queen Elizabeth’s reign.

American singer Adam Lambert, 42, took the place of lead singer Freddie Mercury and joined Brian May, 76, and Roger Taylor, 74, on stage as they sang a montage of classics, impressing the Royal Family with their upbeat performance.

Singer Adam chatted to Kate at last year’s Christmas Carol Service at Westminster Abbey, where she revealed that George, who is second in line to the throne, took a particular liking to the band, according to The Sun.

He said: ‘It was such an honour. I got to meet Princess Kate, which was fabulous. She was absolutely lovely and down to earth and charming.

‘She was talking about her son [George] recalling the performance with the Queen at the Palace for the Platinum Jubilee two years before. Adam continued: ‘She was like, he said: “Oh is Adam going to play his guitar?”

‘She said, “I think he was confused who was playing guitar and who was who but he remembered who you were.” I was like, “Oh, that is cute”.

George has taken a particular liking to rock music in recent years, with Prince William previously saying that he listens to AC/DC and Led Zeppelin during a surprise meet and greet last year.

William and Kate greeted Big Lunch attendees in an unannounced walkabout for around 40 minutes on The Long Walk in Windsor in May last year.

Caroline Mulvihill, from the Rock Choir in Windsor and Maidenhead, spoke to William during the meet and greet.

Recounting their conversation, she said: ‘We were talking about the kind of music we do in Rock Choir and Will was telling us in their household they have a very diverse music taste and George is very much into AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. She added: ‘It was quite interesting to hear that.’

It comes after Prince William has revealed that his children are huge fans of the house DJ Jax Jones.

The British DJ, 36, met the Prince of Wales, 42, at the late Queen’s Jubilee celebrations at Buckingham Palace, where he told him that George, 10, Charlotte, nine, and Louis, six, ‘love’ his music.

Jax Jones, real name Timucin Lam, rose to fame after working on the number one hit I Got U with Duke Dumont.

In response, Jax, who performed at The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee concert, joked that he might perform at one of Wales’ children’s birthday parties.

Speaking to HELLO!, Jax said: ‘I met the Prince of Wales in Buckingham Palace after the late Queen’s Jubilee, which I performed at and it was amazing, and he told me that his kids love my music and I joked about performing at one of their birthdays.’

The Prince and Princess of Wales have a working relationship with the DJ, and in 2023, it was reported that they had secret meetings with him to learn how to connect with young people around the UK.

The push was ahead of Kate’s launch of her Early Childhood Campaign, of which the artist has been made an ambassador.

Jax told The Sun: ‘Our relationship started at the Jubilee and we hung out at Buckingham Palace afterwards.

‘We all got talking — they are super nice and super welcoming. To be asked to get involved and be an ambassador is a real honour. They are really down to earth and they just want to do positive things.’

The DJ is a father to daughter Lawanna. He confessed he was afraid of doing something wrong when he met the royal couple for the first time.

He said: ‘I was so concerned about getting the addresses wrong. So the first time you meet a princess you say ‘Your Highness’ and then it’s ‘Ma’am’, but they make you feel so at ease.

‘We were chatting prior to the launch and spent the day at Windsor Castle having a real brainstorm of ideas.’

The Princess of Wales has said her early years campaign goes beyond ‘raising kids’ and is also about ‘shaping our society’ and creating a ‘more nurturing world’.
