Katy Perry Redefines Statement Dressing in Fiery Red Balenciaga Dress With a Never-ending Train Featuring the Lyrics of Her New Single ‘Woman’s World’
Katy Perry added a personal touch to her one-shoulder red minidress while out during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday. The singer and former “American Idol” judge fashioned a look by Balenciaga, to which she added a dramatic long train embossed with lyrics to her forthcoming single “Woman’s World.”
While arriving at The Ritz hotel in Paris, Perry stepped out of a limousine wearing a selection from Balenciaga’s pre-fall 2024 collection. The velvety fire red dress featured one long sleeve and an asymmetrical neckline.
Perry coordinated the minidress with sheer black tights and a pair of black leather pointed-toe pumps. Keeping her dress and its dramatic train the centerpiece of her entire ensemble, Perry opted to wear her raven black hair down with natural waves. Her makeup also featured a soft, clean look with a smokey eye and muted rosy lip.
The dress Perry wore was featured during Balenciaga’s pre-fall 2024 showcase in Los Angeles last December. While the runway minidress featured a relatively short train, Perry chose to use the element of the dress to showcase lyrics to her forthcoming single, which will be released on July 11.
The dramatic train of Perry’s Balenciaga minidress measured more than 100 yards long, following her as she walked through the entrance and lobby of The Ritz hotel in Paris.
While the train moved relatively quickly, photos revealed lyrics to Perry’s forthcoming single, “Woman’s World,” embossed on the fabric. Perry recently teased the song on social media for its upcoming release during the summer season.
The singer, who wore Balenciaga during her final season as a judge on “American Idol,” finds ways to utilize her fashion in personal ways — creating sartorial statements evocative of a particular moment in her life or a career milestone.
For the Season 22 finale of “American Idol,” Perry wore a golden rose bouquet breast plate by Grace Ling Couture, which featured seven roses symbolizing her seven seasons as a judge on the reality TV competition series.
With this latest look during Paris Fashion Week, Perry wholly redefined the meaning behind statement dressing.
