Keane leaves Postecoglou and Neville in fits of laughter as he makes point clear
Roy Keane had Ange Postecoglou and Gary Neville in fits of laughter as he made his point clear during Georgia’s win over Portugal on Wednesday.
Willy Sagnol’s side booked their place in the last 16 of the competition with a shock 2-0 victory over Cristiano Ronaldo and co in Gelsenkirchen. Keane was once again on punditry duty for the game alongside his former Manchester United teammate Neville and current Spurs boss Postecoglou.
And he strongly disagreed with the view of former referee Christina Unkel, who was working in ITV’s Ref Room for the match, on two penalty shouts during the game.

The first came in the opening half when Ronaldo fell to the ground due to a Georgian defender holding on to his jersey. No penalty was given and Ronaldo was shown a yellow card over his protests at the decision. Unkel said it was the right call and that the Portugal captain was ‘”not impacted when it comes to the context”, but Keane strongly disagreed.
He said: “Of course he’s impacted. He’s pulling on his jersey.”
Postecoglou jumped in and said “great explanation” to which Keane replied: “Yeah, it was a very good explanation.” He then joked: “I know more,” leaving his fellow pundits in fits of laughter.
And Keane again disagreed with Unkel after full-time when she said that the penalty awarded to Georgia, which led to their second goal, was the correct decision. The former United captain felt that there was not enough contact on Luka Lochoshvili, but the former referee said there was.
Keane responded by saying: “Football is a contact sport, but not for a player to go down like that and dive. Listen, obviously she’s the expert.”
