There are risks associated with any kind of foreign travel, and it goes far beyond delayed flights or hotels that don’t quite match what was advertised. There’s a growing awareness that travelling safely should be just as much a priority as travelling widely. But are we taking the right precautions?
In a personal capacity, I am 26 years old, and until now I have only ever taken out travel insurance for long trips. Despite embarking on plenty of quick getaways and city breaks, it has never been a priority to provide a safety net in case of disaster striking.
