Keith Duffy makes first public appearance with wife Lisa Smith since split rumours

The couple, who have been together nearly 30 years, put on a public display of affection at Shania Twain’s concert at Malahide Castle in Co Dublin on Friday night.

Arriving hand in hand, Keith and Lisa hung out backstage with showbiz pals, including Fair City star George ‘Mondo’ McMahon, before the gig.

Keith chaperoned fashion stylist Lisa in a lovey-dovey manner to see the Canadian superstar. When news of their split emerged in January – after an apparent break up around Christmas – the couple unfollowed each other on social media, but they are now happily back again as Instagram friends.

The pair share two adult children, Jay (28) and Mia (24) and had toyed with divorce before rekindling their relationship.

Lisa’s first sign they made amends was when she recently shared a collage of pictures of the singer with their kids, writing: ‘Happy father’s Day Keith Duffy, thank you for the love and support you give our beautiful children.’

Keith is due to turn 50 in October. He married Lisa in Las Vegas in 1998. They celebrated their 25th anniversary last summer with a holiday on the French Rivera. Several members of the Leinster rugby squad including Jamison Gibson Park, joined 20,000 fans at the gig, with many wearing cowboy Stetson hats and boots.

Shania came on stage shortly after 9pm and the caring star stopped her set midway through when she noticed a man who needed medical attention near the front, and who was thankfully given the all clear by medics.

She also invited a young Dublin girl, Annie, onstage to join her on an acapella version of That Don’t Impress Me Much.

Wearing a cowboy hat and black boots and hot pants, the 58-year-old star, took off her check coat after a few numbers to reveal a black t-shirt with the wording ‘Don’t be stupid’.

“What a friggin beautiful night,” she raved, adding that she looked up her ancestry and discovered she’s “50% Irish”.

She announced:

“I just want to say to you I’m living my dream. I started out my life with nothing like a lot of us and dreaming was my escape and as a teenager dreaming was my drug and music really fulfilled all of that.”

The fun-loving crowd enjoyed a well organised concert, although some quibbled the bars shut 15 minutes earlier than anticipated at 9.45pm, with the concert finishing with Man! I Feel Like A Woman! around 10.40pm.

Dublin Bus also raised eyebrows by charging punters €20 a head for a one-way trip for their express bus service from the castle into the city centre, but the Dart allowed thousands of happy fans onto their trains for free afterwards.
