LEXINGTON — More than 10 years ago, The Basketball Tournament held its inaugural event.

There will be plenty of Bluegrass State representation this summer, with alumni teams from Kentucky, Louisville and Bellarmine all competing in the tournament.

Here’s what you need to know about the event as a whole — and the Lexington Regional, specifically:

The Basketball Tournament is a single-elimination, winner-take-all event featuring 64 teams.

The victorious team takes home the $1 million prize.

TBT games start July 19 and end Aug. 4, with the championship game held in Philadelphia.

The Kentucky alumni team is La Familia. Per its official page on the TBT website, the name is “an ode to Coach John Calipari,” who led the Wildcats for 15 seasons (2009-24). Calipari now is the coach at Arkansas.

Here’s the roster for La Familia, as of July 1:

Former Kentucky star Tyler Ulis will be La Familia’s head coach.

Two more former Wildcats, Jon Hood and Darius Miller, will be assistant coaches. Jazz Ferguson, a Louisville native who starred at Moore High, also will serve as an assistant.

Yes. Former Kentucky players Twany Beckham and Sam Malone are La Familia’s general managers.

Here are the seven other squads that will compete in the Lexington portion of The Basketball Tournament:
