A busy day of Ladbrokes races is currently underway at Punchestown racecourse, as the count for local elections in Kildare takes place.
The Punchestown trackside pavilion is currently playing host to the local elections count, where the first results are expected shortly.
Eight races are scheduled on the popular racecourse throughout the day, with Willie Mullins-trained horse ‘Gaucher, the firm favourite for the 3.07pm maiden hurdle.
Racing will take place until 5.30pm today, with the local election races to take place late into the evening and throughout the weekend. Initial results for Maynooth are expected shortly.
