Kilkenny teen in shock as singer Pink shows off his artwork on stage during Dublin gig
15-year-old Sean Davis painted a portrait of Pink with her dad to give to the singer at her Dublin concert
A talented teenager from Kilkenny is still in shock after Pink brought one of his paintings on stage with her during one of her Dublin gigs at the weekend.
15-year-old Sean Davis, who attends Grennan College in Thomastown, Kilkenny, was at the Pink concert at the Aviva Stadium on Friday with his family.
Sean was in the seated section of the stadium, but his mum, Sharon, and sister, Leanne managed to get tickets for the golden circle.
As Sean’s mum and sister are huge fans of Pink, he painted a portrait of the singer and her dad, for his mum and sister to bring to the concert with them, in hopes that Pink would see the painting and maybe talk with them.
Sean’s mission was a success as Pink spotted Sharon and Leanne in the crowd holding up Sean’s painting.
The singer was so impressed with the artwork that she brought the painting on stage with her to show the crowd.
“It is still so surreal that she brought my painting on stage with her,” smiled Sean. “My mam and my sister are huge Pink fans so I was hoping if she saw the painting in the crowd she might speak with them. But I can’t believe it actually worked.”
“Pink stopped and spoke with us for about 40 seconds,” added mum Sharon. “She was so nice and friendly and thanked Sean in front of the whole crowd for the painting.”
This is not the first time that Sean’s artwork has been noticed by a celebrity. The young artist also painted a picture of Olivia Rodrigo and brought it to her concert.
Olivia Rodrigo also spotted her portrait in the crowd and brought it up on stage with her.
“I can’t believe that two famous singers have noticed my artwork. It is the best feeling,” said Sean.
Although clearly talented at art, Sean explained it is acting he hopes to pursue as a career, but also promised that he wouldn’t stop painting.
“I really want to go to Billie Eilish next year so my next goal is to hopefully make a portrait for her,” concluded Sean.
