King Charles and Queen Camilla removed from public engagement following believed security concern
King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla were rushed out of a public engagement amid a security concern.
The royals were viewing local produce at the outdoor Expo event in Jersey on Monday afternoon.
Sadly, the event was cut short, with the pair having been ushered on a short journey into a nearby hotel.
A moment after the initial exit, they reemerged and continued with the tour for the presentation of the King’s Colour outside Pomme d’Or hotel on Libération Square in St Helier.
Following a short investigation, it is believed the security alert was simply a false alarm.
Every precaution was taken and the programme resumed shortly afterwards, it is believed.
The security concern comes after Kate Middleton presented the trophy to the winner of the men’s Wimbledon tournament on Sunday.
The Princess of Wales, who was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, was warmly received during one of her first major public appearances since her health battle.
Despite being present at the men’s final, Kate was unable to present the trophy to the winner of the women’s final between Jasmine Paolini and Barbora Krejcikova on Saturday, with a Wimbledon representative presenting the women’s trophy on her behalf.
