Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund (LSSIF) – Athletics Ireland
Catherine Martin T.D., Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, and Thomas Byrne T.D., Minister of State for Sport, Physical Education and the Gaeltacht, have announced funding of up to €120m under the Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund (LSSIF), which opened for applications on the 26th of April 2024.
Assessment of applications, for funding of between €600,000 and €30m, will take into account population size, sustainability, reducing administrative overheads and ensuring that similar access is provided to accommodate access by men and women to LSSIF-funded facilities. Athletics Ireland seeks submissions from all relevant stakeholders regarding strategic athletic facility projects that are eligible to apply to the LSSIF by the 7th of June 2024, all relevant applications to be sent to maresaconnolly@athleticsireland.ie
Note, all suitable LSSIF applications will be prioritised by rank and submitted through Athletics Ireland. The Facilities Working Group will determine all LSSIF project rankings, and this ranking will be approved by the Board of Athletics Ireland.
Previous beneficiaries of the LSSIF include Munster Technological University, Dublin South Dundrum Athletics Club & the Limerick Regional Athletics Track.
