LATEST: First tallies indicate the four outgoing Thurles councillors will retain their seats
All of the boxes have been tallied for Thurles.
No surprises as Jim Ryan and Michéal Lowry look set to top the polls.
They have already exceeded the projected quota of 1,575 with 2,388 and 2,073 votes respectively.
Sean Ryan is just under the quota at 1,548 followed by newcomer Kay Cahill Skehan on 1,362 votes.
So far, Fine Gael’s Peggy Ryan (816 votes) looks set to edge out Sinn Fein’s Dan Harty (726 votes).
A reminder Thurles has five seats and six candidates.
