Learner driver on coke busted after he tries to escape cops and crashes through garden
A court appearance is on the cards for the crazed motorist
Gardaí have arrested yet another motorist high on cocaine after a dramatic getaway attempt.
The Roads Policing Unit in Tipperary were on patrol on Tuesday morning when their number plate recognition system picked up an uninsured car.
When the guards went to pull in the driver, he took off at speed.
The motorist drove off and after a high-speed chase, he eventually collided with a fence.
The car passed through a garden and came to a stop at the side wall of a family home.
The learner driver then tested positive for cocaine during a garden-side examination.
“He had no insurance, he was also unaccompanied. The car has been seized, it also had no NCT. The tyres were dangerously bald and defective,” a spokesperson said.
Needless to say, the driver was arrested and will appear in court soon.
“Safer Roads,” the guards added.
