Leinster House usher ‘suspended’ following social media posts
A Leinster House usher has been suspended, it is understood.
Multiple sources told the Irish Mirror that he had posted social media posts that were “far right” and “anti-immigration” in nature.
Sources suggested that the usher, who is one of the attendants in Leinster House, was brought into a meeting attended by senior officials – including a HR representative – on Monday evening.

Sources stated that the usher was escorted from the building on Monday evening and has been suspended on full pay.
A spokesperson for the Oireachtas told the Irish Mirror: “The Houses of the Oireachtas Service does not comment on staff matters.”
Some of the social media posts, seen by the Irish Mirror, saw people described as “traitors”.
This included politicians and Gardaí. The usher also used the terms “foreign invaders” and “plantation”.
They also reposted several posts about “traitors” who voted through the EU Asylum and migration pact.
