EXCLUSIVE: Lilli Kay (Your Honor, Yellowstone) is set as a lead opposite Owen Wilson and Peter Dager in Apple TV+’s 10-episode comedy created, written by and executive produced by Jason Keller.
The untitled comedy stars Wilson as Pryce Cahill, an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. After he gets fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store and his wife walks out on him, Pryce hedges his bets entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom, played by Dager.
Kay will play Zero, a 19-year old, Gen-Z social justice warrior who joins Pryce Cahill (Wilson) on the road as he shepherds a young phenom (Dager) through the world of competitive golf.
In addition to Wilson and Dager, Kay joins previously announced cast Marc Maron, Mariana Treviño and Jamie Neumann.
The Apple Studios production will be directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (Fleishman Is In Trouble, Little Miss Sunshine) and executive produced by Propagate’s Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens and Rodney Ferrell, Entertainment 360’s Guymon Casady, Piece of Work’s Lee Eisenberg and Natalie Sandy, Chris Moynihan, Keller, Wilson as well as Bill Callahan.
Kay most recently starred as Fia Baxter opposite Brian Cranston and Michael Stuhlbarg in Showtime drama series Your Honor. She recurs as Clara Brewer in Yellowstone, which is heading into its final season. On the film side, Kay was most recently seen in Rustin opposite Colman Domingo, Chris Rock and Jeffrey Wright and will next be seen in indie feature Press Your Luck opposite Paul Walter Hauser. Kay is repped by Gersh, Authentic Talent & Literary Management, and Bloch Law.
