TEAMS: Congratulations to the JB Carr team on beating Clonmel with an impressive home win of 5-0. Ger Finnan and Willie Ryan doing a great job here getting the team through the stages.
Congratulations to the Pierce Purcell team led by Mike Fitzgerald and Tomas Donnegan who won convincingly against Woodstock 3 1/2 to 1/2. Great win from the team in extremely poor playing conditions. They then followed this up with a Win against Adare in the following round.
The Senior Cup team won their game against Roscrea 3 1/2 to 1 1/2 captained again by Owen O’Keeffe and John O’Dwyer.
JB Carr team who beat Clonmel convincingly 3 1/2 to 1 1/2 will play the winners of Waterford in the next round under the captaincy of Ger Finnan and William Ryan.
The Barton Shield team captained by Owen O’Keeffe and John O’Dwyer played Roscrea on Wednesday 12th June but unfortunately were beaten 3&2, with a high standard of golf played.
We would like to congratulate all our teams to date and those moving on to further rounds the very best of luck.
We would encourage members to support the teams when playing away and especially at home if at all possible. Sometimes this can be the difference in the tightest of games.

‎COUNTY TIPPERARY

MENS: Our Junior Golf Team travelled to Bantry on Sunday to take on Bantry Golf Club on their home course and came away with a fine victory. The team were; Paul O’Connor, Jack Ryan, Andrew Burke, Brian Everard and Paddy Dunne. Reserve players Aidan Murphy and Michael O’Grady. Managers Edmond Tobin and vice captain Danny O’Dwyer.
Our weekend Singles Strokeplay Competition; in 1st place Daniel Quealy (29) with 65, in 2nd place Colm Taylor with (14) with 67. Best Gross Andrew Burke (4) with 68. In 3rd place Tony Reade (16) 69.
Captain’s Qualifier: Next weekend we have Captain Daniel Kennedy’s qualifying competition for his Captains Prize this is the highlight of the year so get your name on the BRS. It is a Strokeplay Competition off the Blue Markers. We are also running a competition off the White Markers for don’t want to enter the main Competition.
LADIES: Our Tuesday morning scramble was won by Bernie Kennedy, Hanora Cahill Connery, Mary Knightly and Catherine O’Connor.

Thursday night social golf was a Waltz which is proving very popular. The winners were 1st Pauline Fitzgearld, Michelle Crowe and Marie Horgan 39 pts. 2nd Helena Ryan, Kitty Byrne and Gwen Willis C/B 39pts.
The BRS is now open for our July 3 Open Day. Kindly sponsored by O’Dwyer Steel. Its Men and Women singles. This is a Fundraiser for our Ladies club so please support it by playing and maybe bringing along a guest or two.
This Thursday evening July 27 is our very popular mixed scramble which is kindly sponsored by Joe Murray. Please put your names on the BRS if you wish to play.
Wishing our Munster women’s Trophy Team and managers the very best of luck for next Sunday July 30th as they take on Templemore with three matches in Dundrum from 4 o’clock and two in Templemore from 4.30.

Hard luck to Mary O’Meara’s Mary McKenna Team. They lost to Tramore last Wednesday.
Best wishes to Renagh Murphy’s Mixed Fourball Team, they play Waterford Castle on Saturday, June 29 at 3.15pm at home.
Our Jimmy Bruen team and managers Richard Ryan and Davy Charles brought their team to Cahir GC on Saturday June 22 last for the quarter finals of East Munster.
After falling behind in two of the four matches, Michael Staunton and Mike O Brien secured a Four and three win in their game, unfortunately our fourth pairing failed to make inroads on their opponents and that game was lost and hence the match, Three/One. This group of players hopefully will be available again next year and will be a formidable outfit.
Our Senior Cup Team are in the last 16 of the East Munster Section.
This was played at Douglas Golf Club.
Tipperary Golf Club play Thurles GC at 12.15 form by winning his match 7 and 6.
Our Juniors took part in the interclub in Youghal GC on June 23. The team of Sean Cleary, David Ryan, Ning Brennan, Sean Kinnane and Marcus Thompson represented Tipperary GC in the Boys U18 inter club qualifier.
