Limerick’s Jodie Waite selected on team GB Paralympic wheelchair basketball team

LIMERICK Jodie Waite will make her Paralympic debut with team GB wheelchair basketball team at this year’s Paris Olympics later this month. 

Jodie was previously the captain of the Limerick Celtics wheelchair basketball team for a number of years with the team  haveing huge success. She was also named female wheelchair basketball player of the year three consecutive times in 2020, 2021 and 2022 by Basketball Ireland.

The Limerick native signed with East London Phoenix for the 2021/22 season of the WPL, competing alongside her studies at the University of East London.

Jodie is among two other players who will be making their Paralympic debuts in Paris with team GB sending a squad of 11 athletes to try and claim the countries first ever women’s wheelchair basketball medal. Wheelchair basketball will take place on all 11 days of competition in the Bercy Arena.
