Limerick’s Louise Cantillon to co-present TG4 travel series

LIMERICK native, Louise Cantillon is set to co-present the second series of its popular travel adventure programme Téacs Taistil.

Téacs Taistil transports the viewer to a different destination each week for an inspirational, fun and entertaining 50-minute escape. It’s a fast-paced travel series and a captivating way to experience the world.

Three presenters, Three days, Three tasks. A different short break every week. What to pack? How to dress?

In series two of Téacs Taistil, you will get to follow three unique characters, as they hunt for the Loch Ness Monster, go rabbit show jumping in Stockholm, search for the dead in Vienna and soar in the skies above Benbulben.

Whether you’re looking for a new travel destination, or to experience the world with intrepid travellers Louise Cantillon Today FM DJ, Séaghan Ó Súilleabháin farmer, teacher and presenter, and Proinsias Ó Coinn podcaster, journalist and, TV presenter.

Louise Cantillon, from Kilcornan, presents Today FM’s flagship lunchtime show, hosts TG4’s Junior Eurovision and has a successful bilingual podcast called How to Gael.

“I’m so excited to be back on the road with the buchaillí for Téacs Taistil series two. I feel like this is going to be the biggest and best to date. We went to some incredible destinations. Discovering new cities and doing it through a series of tasks was great fun.

“I tried my hand at making gladiator sandals in Athens and got the opportunity to see the epic Northern lights out at sea in Reykjavik. We had a lot of laugh out loud moments. Not sure if you’ll be laughing with us or at us, but it doesn’t matter, I’m just excited to be ar ais arís,” she added.

Farmer, teacher and presenter, Séaghan Ó Súilleabháin, from Kerry has many strings to his bow. Séaghan is very active on TikTok and Instagram where his life on the farm in Kerry has attracted worldwide attention.

Séaghan travelled very little before the first series of Téacs Taistil, but would now consider himself an expert.

“I had no travel experience prior to Téacs Taistil series one. I admit I was a bit of a rookie. In series two we really stepped it up another gear. We were as competitive as ever when it came to the tasks and having a wide mix of skills certainly came in handy – from waltzing in Vienna to sheep farming in Reykjavik,” Séaghan said.

“Series two had no shortage of challenging moments but we always managed to pull through and have the craic while doing it! A journey to remember le mo bheirt chairde iontacha, can’t wait for everyone to see it,” he added.

Proinsias Ó Coinn from Armagh is a podcaster, journalist and, TV presenter.

“I didn’t think we could top the places we visited in series one but in this series of Téacs Taistil, we went to some of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. From a sunset dinner in the sky in Athens to the rolling vineyards of Sicily, I can’t wait for people to see what we got up to. The challenges are wilder, we are as competitive as ever and we’ve become even closer friends. Well sometimes,” Proinsias laughed.

The seven locations the trio travel to include Athens, Isle of Skye, Palermo, Reykjavik, Sligo, Stockholm and Vienna.

Téacs Taistil begins on TG4 on Wednesday, March 6 at 9:30pm and continues at the same time for seven weeks.
