Limerick’s mayoral election: who could become Ireland’s answer to Boris Johnson?

John Moran, once one of the country’s most powerful civil servants, gently strokes the back of his red setter Henri as he outlines his vision for Limerick.

Moran is one of 15 candidates running for the position of directly elected mayor of Limerick city and county.
