A large garda presence is now at the scene after the earlier unrest
Fires have been lit and protestors have blocked the Malahide Road outside a site in Coolock set to host refugees.
The former Crown Paints factory site has been the subject of a number of local protests this year. An encampment set up at the entrance to the site was cleared last night, with railings put up around the site this morning.
A number of people have gathered outside the site, where some of the railings have been torn down and placed across the Malahide Road going Northbound. Shouts of “get them out” can be heard in video footage from the scene, while workers can be seen retreating away from the entrance.
Gardai have confirmed that they are at the scene.
