Los Angeles upsets Ambiente Friendly to claim the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby
Ryan Moore bolted home to win the Irish Derby at the Curragh.
The English jockey won on Los Angeles in a nail-biting battle with three furlongs out to out stay Sunway and Ambiente Friendly in Kildare.
Both Ambiente Friendly and Los Angeles emerged neck-to-neck with three to go in the feature race but the 13/8 second-favourite had enough in the tank to win at the Curragh.
Robert Havlin who was on board Ambiente Friendly failed to justify the pre-race odds as the duo failed to see out the race they were leading five from the finish line.
The 1.5 mile outing lived up to expectations the Aidan O’Brien trained horse pipped the win in a thrilling finale to the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby.
Heading into the straight Ambiente Friendly was on the heels of Los Angeles but Ryan Moore’s horse had enough Ambiente Friendly was pushed into third at the death.

British rider David Menuisier and Sunway pipped the horse for second in right on the line.
