Louis’ pressing question to Kate – and her firm reply uncovered by lip reader

The Princess of Wales was not alone when she made her triumphant return to public life at Trooping the Colour following her cancer diagnosis.

Every step of the way during Saturday’s King’s Birthday Parade, she was joined by her three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. With Prince William on horseback, the princess and her three youngsters enjoyed a carriage ride from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade.




And once there, they watched the military spectacle from the window of a building overlooking the parade ground alongside other Royal Family members. Youngest child Louis, aged six, seemed to thoroughly enjoy the parade as he danced along to the military bands.

But it seems something other than the parade captured the young prince’s interest as he watched from the window – and it prompted him to ask mum Kate a pressing question. As the TV cameras panned to the window, Louis could be seen playing with what appeared to be a beaded blind cord next to the window.

According to lip reader Nicola Hickley, he asked Kate: “Can I play with the beads? But the princess firmly told her youngest: “No. I need you to concentrate on the parade.”

Louis has become known for entertaining royal fans with his reactions during royal events. During the RAF flypast when the royals stood on the Buckingham Palace balcony, dad Prince William was pictured affectionately pulling Louis’ ears as Kate watched and grinned and when the national anthem was played big sister Charlotte gave her younger sibling a nudge to stand still.
