Luke Garner Named 2024-25 Men’s Tennis Team Captain – Naval Academy Athletics
ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Luke Garner has been named the captain of the 2024-25 Navy men’s tennis team, head coach Chris Garner announced today.
The rising senior from Arnold, Md., compiled a 13-8 record in singles and a 13-6 mark in doubles during the 2024 spring campaign. He played the majority of his singles matches at the No. 2 flight and played all of his doubles matches at the No. 1 flight. This included a 12-5 record when paired with Sasha Panyan. The tandem was named the Patriot League Doubles Team of the Year in both 2023 and ’24.
The operations research major posted a 3.26 grade-point average during the 2023-24 academic year and was named to the Commandant’s List for both semesters.
Luke’s older brother, Finn, served as the team captain as a senior during the 2022-23 year. They are the first siblings to serve as captains of the men’s tennis team.
