Madden 25: Christian McCaffrey Is 49ers’ First Cover Athlete
EA Sports has officially revealed the cover athlete for their upcoming Madden 25 game, and Christian McCaffrey is the one receiving the honors. McCaffrey is the first player from the San Francisco 49ers to ever grace the cover of the popular video game franchise, and the announcement comes at a perfect time.
Just recently, the star running back signed a two-year, $38 million contract extension to stay with the 49ers. The fact that the 49ers have never had a player on the cover of Madden may come as a shock to some, but there is no doubt McCaffrey is deserving. Madden 25 is set to release on Aug. 16.
McCaffrey: The Madden 25 Cover
McCaffrey on the cover of Madden just makes sense. While helping the 49ers secure an NFC title last season and earning the Offensive Player of the Year nod, the captivating RB was also a finalist for the MVP award. Last year, the former Stanford Cardinal dominated the league, leading the NFL in rushing yards with 1,459. McCaffrey was among the leaders in many other categories as well, such as being tied for second in carries and fourth in touchdowns.
