Mahon man accused of assault of three men on the same evening

A 28-YEAR-OLD man accused of assault causing harm to three men at different locations in Cork city centre on the same night has been served with a book of evidence.

Paul Murphy, of 26 Ravensdale Road, Mahon, was served with the book of evidence at Cork District Court.

On the application of Sergeant Gearóid Davis, Judge Mary Dorgan sent the case forward for trial by judge and jury at the sessions of Cork Circuit Criminal Court commencing on October 29.

Paul Murphy was represented by solicitor Shane Collins-Daly. Mr Murphy faces counts of assault causing harm to three men and causing criminal damage to the bicycle owned by an injured party at Sullivan’s Quay. The other alleged assaults were carried out at Margaret St and Dunbar St, respectively.

All of the charges relate to August 14, 2023.
