Major blow for Irish shoppers as popular store on busy street closes for months
SHOPPERS are set for a major blow as a popular high street store is set to close for a number of months.
Mango on Henry Street in Dublin has announced its shock closure until September.
The store that was once very busy now has its shutters down and a notice up.
It reads: “See you back in September. Warm regards, Mango Henry Street Team.”
The notice explains that the store will be closed “temporarily” for refurbishment.
The Barcelona-based clothing store opened in that building in 2013, for a reported €700,000 in rent.
Located not far from the Ilac Centre, it is placed in the perfect position for shoppers – who now will unfortunately have to wait until September to return to Mango.
It comes as customers have been left devastated after a popular Dublin pub took their “last orders” and closed over the weekend.
The Kestrel Inn in Walkinstown in Dublin 12 confirmed the closure and said goodbye with a finale event just before the bank holiday.
The Kestrel Inn was a music hotspot regularly hosting live music events.
They were also popular among locals for their carvery Sunday lunch.
The south Dublin pub took to social media to share the closing events with their customers.
The popular spot located off the Walkinstown rounds hosted a customer appreciation night on May 18.
The ticketed event was named The Finale and was a full house on the night.
Sharing snaps from the event, the pub said: “Thanks for coming to the Kestrel appreciation night.
“Hope all had a great night.”
The pub closed its doors for the final time on May 31 and went out with a bang.
They hosted another goodbye event for customers which they named “Last orders”.
Announcing the event, they said: “The Kestrel Inn warmly extends an invitation to all to join us for our last evening on May 31st, 2024, as we commemorate the Final Call before our closure.”
They continued: “This special occasion marks the culmination of our journey, and we would be honored by your presence to celebrate with us.”
“Your attendance would mean the world to us as we bid farewell.
The event had a DJ for the night and €5 drinks were served all day.
