Man (20s) due in court after Dublin assault that left man in serious condition
A man in his 20s will appear in court this morning in relation to an assault in Dublin city centre which has left a man in his 40s in serious condition.
Gardaí are continuing to investigate the assault which occurred on O’Connell Street and Cathal Brugha Street, Dublin 1 in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Two men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested in connection with this incident.
One of the men (20s) has been charged and will appear before Court 1 of the CCJ this morning, while the second man (30s) has been released from custody.
Investigations are ongoing and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
The injured party, a man aged in his 40s, remains in hospital in a serious condition.
Gardaí are looking to speak with any individuals who were in the Cathal Brugha Street area, near the Living Room Bar, between 12.40am and 1am and any individuals who were on O’Connell Street Upper near the Spar Shop, Funland, Tourism Office or opposite the Spire, between 12.40am and 1am Sunday morning.
“Anyone who has camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to gardaí,” a spokesperson said.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Store Street Garda Station on 01 666 8000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
