Man (30s) arrested as more than €380k of herbal cannabis seized at Dublin Airport
Officers seized over 19kgs of herbal cannabis that were discovered in the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight originating from Malaysia
A man has been arrested after herbal cannabis worth more than €380,000 was seized at Dublin Airport last night.
The man, in his 30s, was detained overnight at a Dublin garda station and is due before the courts this morning.
In a statement, Revenue said officers seized over 19kgs of herbal cannabis that were discovered in the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight originating from Malaysia.
The drugs were seized “as a result of risk profiling”.
“A man in his 30s was subsequently arrested by An Garda Síochána and detained overnight under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Dublin Garda Station,” a Revenue spokesperson said.
“He is due before the courts this morning. Investigations are ongoing.”
Revenue added that the seizure is part of ongoing operations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale, and supply of illegal drugs.
